Nationwide Gas Price Finders

Summer is finally upon us, which means it’s time to hit the road to visit family, friends, or just get away.  In addition to planning your route, you may also want to see how much gas will set you back along the way. If you want to see the national gas price picture, GasBuddy is a great place to start.  There you will find a national gas price temperature map, where you can see the “hot” and “cool” zones.  But if you prefer to get your directions and maps from just one place (like Mapquest), Mapquest Gas Prices is the the site for you.

Remember to check these sites regularly,  so you won’t be caught by surprise by any price flunctuations.  Safe travels!

Time To Get Out of Here !!

So it is cold outside, and likely to remain so for a while. The economy sucks and the news is mostly depressing. Maybe you just need to get away from it all!!!

Now is a great time to book a trip, fly away to some warm sunny beach, or maybe even take a cruise. Due to the poor economy, specials abound everywhere for travel. First you can call your local travel agent. Easiest way is to use a search engine like Google or ask.com. Type in  Lansing MI travel agents and a long list of agents will be at your disposal. If you want to arrange your own and don’t mind doing a little homework you can search online.

For airplane tickets, use your search engine again and type airlines. You will again find a long list of airlines as well as companies such as Expedia.com or Orbitz.com that search all airlines for the cheapest fares. Just go to one of their sites by clicking on the link and put in your days of travel, destinations, number of passengers, best times for you to fly and you will have a whole array of choices to peruse. Using your credit card is a safe and easy way to purchase your flight. You will receive and email and itinerary that includes a ticketless number know as an e-ticket. Be sure to check for what the policies are for baggage and what time to arrive at the airport as many have changed their policies. Also be sure to pack appropriately and check for what types of items are not allowed on airplanes. A photo ID such as a drivers license or passport is also needed to board a plane or a cruise boat. Be sure you know what is needed before leaving home. Most airlines also offer you the chance to check in online and print your own boarding pass within 24 hours of your flight departure.

Once you have decided on and airline you will also see they offer deals on hotels and rental cars as well. Just follow their instructions and make your choices to suit your needs.

To find the best deals on cruises you can again contact your travel agent or do a search for cruise ships or cruise specials on line.    Bon Voyage!
