DTV
The switch is just around the corner. February 17th 2009 is the big day. Analog signals will no longer be used. If you have rabbit ears and an analog television, a converter box is needed. Many places sell converter boxes such as Wal-mart, Target, Best Buy, and Meijer. The government is giving out $40 coupons to help with the cost. The Downtown Branch of the Capital Area DIstrict Library has some coupon applications located in the Computer Center or you can go to www.DTV2009.gov and apply online. If you want more information on the switch please visit www.dtvanswers.com.

Starting Out!
Hello! Thanks for stopping by! This is an official work blog, but I think you will find useful and interesting bits of information here on web sites, productivity software and other technology/computer news. So, check back often! Please look at the About page for a full description of the blog, its purpose and guidelines.
The short version of the blog’s purpose: Keeping us informed.
There have been many changes in the Computer Center at the Downtown Lansing Library. Patrons now have access to Photoshop Elements 6, Premier Elements 4 and Microsoft Expression Web(successor to Frontpage). Patrons can also burn dvds! The Computer Center will be adding classes on these programs to our line up. Check the class link on the right to see what is on the schedule.
