About Us

The Capital Area District Library (CADL) is a mid-Michigan destination for exciting programs, quality materials and services, and access to technology, all free to the residents in our district. We serve communities throughout Ingham County (with the exception of East Lansing) with 13 libraries and a Bookmobile.

Our communities reflect a wide variety of ages, interests and cultures, and CADL strives to offer informative and entertaining programs for everyone. These include core offerings like storytimes and book discussions, as well as special events like author visits and lifestyle seminars.

A CADL card is the key to borrowing materials, using public computers and Internet, and accessing specialized databases. All residents within our service area are eligible for a free library card. Anyone living outside of our service area may get a card by paying a yearly non-resident fee.

The top reasons I am maintaining this blog:

  • filter technology information for staff and community
  • update staff and community on new technology resources at the library
  • provide useful tech tips/information and encourage others to post their tips/information
  • promote technology programs and classes offered by the library
  • provide screencasts and other media to help our community utilize technology and our services

Since this is a work blog, there are some ground rules for the blog. Thanks for following them!
